Harvest Thanksgiving is a wonderfully earthy feast in our tradition. Sometimes Followers of Jesus spend too much time on mountain tops and forget the need in the valley below. We want to work hard to resist this temptation.

Today we give thanks to God for farmers and food distributers. We pray for accessibility to daily bread for all people around the world. We are grateful for what we eat and remember those who go hungry. We feast as we recollect famine.

I wonder how you celebrate the food God has created.

I wonder how you share food.

I wonder how it feels to miss a meal. I wonder how you celebrate Jesus.

I wonder how you share Jesus.

I wonder how it feels to miss Holy Eucharist.

This month we are collecting food for our local Food Bank. Please bring a non-perishable donation to the church and check the date to ensure it has not expired. Cash donations to the Food Bank are also welcome.

A service of Holy Communion to give thanks to God who feeds all hungry people and ensures there is enough for all.

All are welcome to receive bread and wine (or juice) at communion. Gluten-free wafers are available for those with sensitivities.
