The long green growing time (this is how the Godly Play program describes the Season after Pentecost) is an opportunity for us who have followed the life of Christ from this Birth to Ascension to focus on our imitation of his life.
Christ was born; so, too, are we. Christ was baptized; so, too, are we. Christ was driven into the desert; so, too, are we. Christ suffered; so, too, do we. Christ died; so, too, do we. Christ rose again; so, too, do we. Christ ascended to the right hand of the Father; and now we sit there, too.
As the earth grows in this season, so, too, do we grow in the grace and love of God through the life of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
