The Re-gathering Tree

The Re-gathering Tree

Latest project by Liturgical Arts

DID YOU KNOW that 2025 is The Year of Re-gathering at St. Dunstan's?

The Rector unveiled the 7 areas of focus for the Year of Re-gathering in February during the Annual Vestry Meeting.  (see attached document)

In support of the year, the Liturgical Arts Team is inviting parishioners to help grow the Re-gathering Tree.  Come and check out this latest Lit. Arts project in the sanctuary during August and September.

The late Frederick Buechnerm, beloved theologian and author, explained the notion of God's calling to a new generation of seekers saying,
“The place God calls you to is the place where your deep gladness and the world’s deep hunger meet.”
― Frederick Buechner, Wishful Thinking: A Seeker's ABC

You are invited to reflect on the following questions:

What is/are your deep gladness(es)?
What is/are the deep gladness(es) of St. Dunstan's as a community?
What is/are our local community's deep hunger(s)?

Help add foliage by putting your DEEP GLADNESS & DEEP HUNGER onto the branches when you are at church next time!

Launching Food Bank Awareness Season

Launching Food Bank Awareness Season

August to Harvest Thanksgiving Sunday (October 12)

DID YOU KNOW that our local Aldergrove Food Bank is struggling to keep enough inventory of non-perishables on their shelves despite the signs of summer harvest at food stands and shops?  Starting this Sunday and continuing until October 12 (Harvest Thanksgiving), St. Dunstan's is inviting parishioners to bring specific non-perishable food/household items that our local food bank needs.  You may leave your donations in the Food Bank crate at the entrance of the sanctuary.

This Sunday (August 10) we are collecting: Fruit Juice and Deodorant

Next Sunday (August 17): Canned meat/fish

Contemplative Practice & Fellowship

Contemplative Practice & Fellowship

Facilitated by Joe Baker and Elaine Chatwin - Saturday, August 9, 2025

A monthly, in-person, contemplative gathering at the Parish of St. Dunstan’s.  This community meets the second Saturday morning of each month from 9:30am to noon.  Suitable for experienced practitioners and those curious to explore the contemplative side of spiritual practices.  The morning will be lightly guided with a focus on practice time in community.  Our hope is to establish an ongoing community of spiritual companions.

This is a no fee event but registration is requested.
