On August 9th, at 11:50 parishioners will be ringing bells at St, Dunstan's to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

We hope that people will participate not only to honour the victims of the 1945 nuclear blasts, but to signal a desire that all nations abolish this continued threat to the safety of the world’s peoples. There are no conditions under which nuclear war would be justified. And currently several countries, including the US on a massive scale, are in the process of pouring a lot of money and efforts into modernizing and expanding their nuclear arms. We now have 9 countries who possess nuclear weapons. And these weapons are way more powerful than the bombs which were dropped on Japan 75 years ago. And Canada is refusing to sign the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons. For more information on the Treaty: https://www.un.org/disarmament/wmd/nuclear/tpnw/
