This study of Sacred Earth Sacred Soul by John Philip Newell is designed for maturing Christians who wish to go deeper in their explorative journey of comprehensive mystical spirituality. This study is designed to help participants “Wake Up” to the spiritual callings from Creation and to “Grow Up” to face as Spiritual people the evolutionary wisdom of our Celtic ancestors assisting us in maturer ways to face the challenges of life today in all its manifestations.

The life and witness of these people give us a foundation for a mature, inclusive faith journey that closely resembles the faith journey and teachings of Jesus and his followers but tailored to the modern life with modern understanding and tools that we have today as we follow God our loving Creator as interpreted for us by Jesus
To attend this program, which will enhance your spiritual vision, participants must agree to read the book by John Philip Newell titled Sacred Earth-Sacred Soul. The course will uncover the many uses of the term Celtic both historic and modern. Newell uses it to loosely mean the developed form of Christianity with the focus on the developing faith in all the areas of the Galic Empire before the Roman conquest. The countries of what is today Europe were under Celtic leadership until about 250 AD. Rome conquered all of Europe except for small portions of the British Isles. Scotland, Wales and Ireland as well as a tiny fraction of Northern England. All remained Celtic after the Roman invasion. St. Paul began Christian work around 50 AD in what is today Turkey but was then a part of the Galic Empire. Paul’s planted church began a process of intermingling the Christian understanding with the Druid understanding of a life journey with the Creator. This creation-based church spread over Europe. We will see how its sparkle is still alive in the hearts of Celtic people today.
Our eight-week book study will uncover the links between Spirituality and Creation. These links build a comprehensive foundation to meet the severe challenges of the 21st-century, with all this new learnings and challenges which include food insecurity, migration, violence and climate change.
This study may open doors to new patterns of problem solving and understanding complexity. Newell’s goal is to help us understand a new function for Religion in the midst of the challenge. We will understand Celtic Wisdom as a re-awakening to what our souls know as well as wisdom to heal our world
Participants will be expected to learn with each other and reflect upon our faith journey through new eyes as mystical Christians on the pilgrimage of life.
