Archbishop's Letter to the Diocese, May 13, 2025

To the People of the Diocese of New Westminster

The situation in Gaza continues to be deeply troubling and is very much on my mind.  I write this letter to you to name my concerns and invite your prayers.   

Our sister parish, St. George's, Fort Langley, is inviting the people from St. Dunstan's to participate in these upcoming Indigenous Solidarity events to learn and live out our commitment to Truth and Reconciliation:

The Centre@St. Dunstan's will be hiring a part-time Program Animator in the next few months as part of the ongoing renewal of the Centre@St. Dunstan's.  The position description will be posted on our WEBSITE as soon as it is available.

Centering Prayer: This simple practice is twenty minutes of silence using the pattern of Centering Prayer taught by Thomas Keating and Cynthia Bourgeault.

Lectio Divina:  A slow and meditative reading of scripture.

Contemplative Eucharist: Celebrating the Lord's Supper in an intimate and reflective setting with simple chants and openings to pray in silence. 

Labyrinth: A labyrinth is a tool for prayer whereby a person follows a path in prayerful silence to a centre.

Messy Church is a casual service for children and their families.  We play games, listen to stories, create works of art, share communion and eat dinner together.
