Please join friends from our sister parish St. Geroge's, Fort Langley as they prepare for participation in the Walk in the Spirit of Reconciliation.
Bridget Findlay, MCC BC Indigenous Neighbours Coordinator, together with an Elder will walk all participants through the KAIROS Blanket Exercise, an experiential exploration of the history of relationships between Indigenous and Non-Indigenous peoples in Canada. The event is free and open to anyone coming with an open heart and a willingness to learn.
Please register by email annet@shaw.ca
The aim is to help us better understand why reconciliation is needed and how to take steps toward reconciliation and new relationships. This in-person free event is hosted by the Walk in the Spirit of Reconciliation. A healthy early lunch will be served prior to the event.
This is an important way to give substance to our territorial acknowledgment at the start of the service and to demonstrate our commitment to our Indigenous neighbours and to the Calls to Action of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. Even if you have already participated in the Blanket Exercise there is much more to learn.
St. George's is located at 9160 Church St., Fort Langley.
